"The Rail"

I have been wanting to take this photo of a train going around this bend for ages. So myself and a friend found out what time the train usually comes in in the afternoon. this was between 4:30pm and 5.00pm.

So we made our way to the crossing and would you believe it, we waited a few minutes and then out of no where this train comes.

I only had a few seconds before the train when't past me so I had little time to get the shots right. After the front of the train had gone past I started taking pictures of the carriages, and in the end i think they looked better then the shots of the front of the train.

The settings for all the shot were 1/500sec  f/ 10  ISO 250

  1. Trent this is a really great shot of the character if the country! You've done so well to capture the juxtapositioning of the urban and rural lifestyles in one single shoot! Good work!
