The river is high and still rising. There are many people who are feeling the heartache, some more than others. It is times like these when community spirit is the key to many things. Residents of The Narrandera area are finding it hard to keep the water away. Over the past two days the local high school has stopped most classes to continuously fill sand bags for the needy. With the joint effort of Narrandera High School and the local community, over 7000 sand bags have been filled and over 80 tonnes of dirt has been shovelled.
To those who have helped in one way or another, be proud, stay proud and remember, when things go down hill, working together as a community is the best possible thing.
